Is the lack of career clarity in college students a problem/pain point worth solving ?
So, I am in my third year of college right now and still feel like I have no idea what I wanna do in the future(career-wise). Initially i felt it might just be me, but turns out a LOT of my peers share my thoughts.
This led to me doing some primary research. The go-to for most students are seniors/alumni and social media(LinkedIn, Reddit, Youtube). Though chatbots are REALLY advanced and will only continue to get better, i don't see people actually using it to figure out what they wanna do in life, coz they generalize the data too much and though they give accurate depictions of what the work involved in a specific job role involves, they can't really give us what actually working in the role/industry looks like.
In a nutshell, what we have in mind is to connect working professionals to college students, a space where the professionals input even one structured testimonial of a job role(anonymous to the public to maintain honesty, but verified from our end) they are working in or have worked in, kinda like reddit but structured based on a questionnaire/template from our end.
Basically making accessible the info that all the 'talks with seniors' provide, to everyone, and reducing the variance that comes with interacting with a limited number of people you might know
I just wanted to get feedback from this community on if this is actually something worth solving, or is it all just in my head?
Also would professionals actually write these 'testimonials' which is key, without a concrete incentive, and most of all, would this significantly improve upon the current situation?
