My plan to add the train is to just sew the fabric i got (I think its 4 yards of mesh), layered like the picture, on the inside of the little slip under the real dress so that it has a gradient like in the picture. Just wanted any advice you guys might have as this will be my first time making any real alterations to clothing! My mom will also help me, but I just want to see if this is a solid plan for making a nice mermaid train that looks more like the listing. Prom is next week so I don't want to make any major alterations and mess up my dress.

Hey!

As the title says, im an incoming ChemE major wondering if I shd do emerging scholars

Idk if I should do it given the increased course load.

If I did it, I would be taking: (fall, 19 credits) englwrit 112H, comp-lit 141h, 191eh, engin 110, math 131, chem 111, and engin 191 + (spring, 21 credits) chE 120EM, physic 151, math 132, chem 112, 201H, and 391H (seminar).

If not, I would take: englwp 112, a social world, eng 191, engin 110, math 131, chem 111. (As per the recommended course schedule for chemE w a biochemical focus)

Pros of doing emerging scholars:

  • Ensures I live in SouthWest, which is important to me
  • Built in friends? Bc its a rap
  • Ensures I get into the honors college
  • Possibly would help get an internship in freshman year?

Cons

  • Really heavy workload, on top of the weed out classes
  • I need a 4.0 and that might kill it
  • Wouldn't have as much time for research/internships
  • I think you can get into the honors college without it
