My god, that scene when Melissa and Maddie forget her ballet shoes and she says, “You're not perfect Maddie.” But literally, during a lot of Season 1, I feel as though Melissa and Abby were the ones who were really pushing the Maddy is a perfectionist bullshit. It’s just so fucked when you really think abt it. Also, a random thought: the episode where Cathy steals Chloe’s music (low-key, ngl, the producers killed it with that storyline; I was gagged). Christi and Abby, low-key, not beefing this episode, and I was shocked. There’s even a scene with them talking about Abby’s mom, Christi tries to de-escalate a fight between Kelly and Abby, and really tries to get Abby to understand how much the kids really craved her approval and respect, and their joint wtf moment when Cathy stole her music was too funny.
