Hey, not sure if I’m overthinking this, but on a few recent trips to hill areas, I’ve been noticing animals a lot closer to garbage than I remember before.
Not just monkeys (that’s always been a thing), but also birds, stray cattle, and hearing from locals about bigger wildlife coming near dump sites.
I recently read that in some parts of Kashmir, even Himalayan brown bears are getting a noticeable chunk of their diet from human waste, which is… kind of hard to process.
Now I’m wondering how common this actually is:
- Have you seen wildlife feeding at dump sites or near tourist waste?
- Any specific places where this is happening more?
- Does it feel like it’s increased over the years?
Also weirdly, I don’t come across many photos of this, even though people seem to have seen it.
Curious what others here have experienced.
