Hi folks, I'm currently in the process of applying to the FBR through my Irish-born grandmother. I have gathered copies of the required documents, but have noticed that my grandmother's surname is misspelled on my father's birth certificate.

The question is, how is best to go about explaining this in my application? On the application form itself, should I be using the correct spelling on the section asking for 'Mother's birth surname' on the section relating to my father?

For clarity, it is only misspelled on my father's birth certificate, but is spelled correctly on her own birth, marriage and death certificates.

Keen to hear how anyone with a similar issue approached this in their applications. Thanks!
