[Online][5e 2024][EST][18+] Cinders of the Flaming Fist
It is 1505, Year of the Ogres Marching.
At the beginning of the campaign, for one reason or another, you serve the Flaming Fist. Former criminals, nobles, cretins; you all are future heroes for Baldur's Gate. As the sword to the Watch's shield for the city, you are told to aspire to serve in the frontlines against the next inevitable threat that haunts in the distance. You are promised a new life, either as reward or penance, for your dues. Eventually, a proper life within the Inner City if you play your cards right. Your conscription, however, demands a price for past sins.
You are part of a task force of bottom-ranked Fists led by Gauntlet Elron. Elron is your commanding officer for your assignment to the Rivington and Twin Songs neighborhoods of the Outer City. You'll be following his command and seeing these neighborhoods from a fresh perspective. As you roam the countryside, you'll find that being a Flaming Fist isn't immediately lucrative.
Quickly, you'll discover how different the militia has become since the Absolute Crisis threatened Baldur's Gate and the rest of Faerun with a reckoning. The city has been home to some of the most horrific events in history, something acknowledged by Grand Duke Ulder Ravengard himself. With the city rebuilt and reform for leadership on its way, Ravengard promises a new era for the corruption-weathered city of dark politics and plots.
Together, you move onward.
Outside of the premise, your overall motives are yours to decide. Here are a few examples of hooks for why you joined the Flaming Fist:
-Surviving the Absolute Crisis inspired you to rebuild Baldur's Gate and also serve it in hopes of a brighter future.
-You're given an opportunity to work off a sentencing as the Flaming Fist are in need of capable soldiers. Maybe someone saw something in you and didn't want to waste the talent.
-You seek the life and reverie of a hero, what better place to start than becoming a local legend of the Outer City?
-You've joined with a deceptive motive. Maybe there was an official political program that was good for public relations, maybe you are from a more illicit background. Either way, the intent is espionage and you are their inside agent. You'll need to keep proving your loyalty on both sides, who will you choose?

I am looking for 4-5 players for a campaign of my own design! While the premise seems simple, I can assure you there is a lot more in store (of course there is, it's Baldur's Gate! they can't have it good). I've run a few long-term campaigns and wanted to do something more original. I am utilizing some of the newer books for ideas, but this is NOT based on any existing campaign.
It is an exploration of Baldur's Gate to start, but eventually it will become so much more. The city will be the central hub and focus of many story beats, with plenty of opportunity for greatness. If you are looking for a roleplay-heavy campaign and also to be empowered by the DM, this game is for you!
This game will be hosted on Discord and Roll20 and does not have a concrete time set (waiting on having players) though it will likely be Friday/Saturday evenings. Fill out the following questionnaire if you're interested:
