i just moved into a rental and i really want to adopt a cat. in my contract it says caged animals like hamsters birds etc are fine but cats and dogs you need permission from the landlord and it’s a case by case situation. There isn’t any furniture or carpet except the kitchen in the house so everything will be mine so if the cat destroys anything it’ll be my property. how should i go on about asking him? i really want a companion.

(i’m okay to pay if the cat damages anything that’s not mine)
