Recommendation: what style carpet works best for stairs
I'm struggling with what kind of carpet I should put on my stairs. An installer recommender against a Berber carpet because it won't wrap the steps and railings as well. And won't look as "high end" for a high visibility stair case. This was my concern as well as I've seen more Berber carpets used in basements and not so much in main living areas.
But I'm also worried a softer/non Berber capert will wear and stain quicker on a high traffic area and will look worst after a year or two.
What would typically be the recommended carpet here, want something that looks good and will last if such an option exists.
