Hey all, looking for some real-world insight here.
I’ve got a pre-employment drug test coming up for a field service technician role with a gaming/casino equipment company. The test is listed as a NON-DOT 10 panel standard and it’s being done in Missouri.
I know a 10-panel usually includes THC, but what I’m trying to figure out is:
Do companies actually still care about THC results in this kind of role?
Some context:
- It’s not a DOT position
- But it is field service (likely driving, working on-site, etc.)
- Company is based in Vegas and markets themselves as “new school”
- They’ve already been sending onboarding/welcome emails before I’ve even taken the test
So I’m trying to gauge:
- Is THC usually still a dealbreaker in this type of job?
- Or are some companies moving away from caring about it, even if it shows up on the panel?
Not asking how to pass or anything—just trying to understand how employers actually treat THC results nowadays in roles like this.
Appreciate any insight, especially from people who’ve been in similar situations.
