I already talked to management about my options, I’m not allowed to have any patio drapes/screens from railing to ceiling that would “prevent escape during fire”. I’ve been looking at outdoor folding screens and before I go spending almost $60-120 on one, does anyone else have any ideas? It lights up the ENTIRE balcony, there is no shaded area at night. I’m a night owl and I just want to sit in my cozy patio chair and listen to the frogs without being blasted by the sun. Update; the light isn’t from another tenant, it’s on the building placed there by the complex to light up a pathway.

Little update for Monday; I’m taking a lot of y’all’s lovely suggestions and I’m sending an email with this picture and another I took of how much light it shines on the whole of the balcony to management asking 1. To angle the light away/down more, 2. Get a shield/cover so It only lights up the ground and not my eyeballs, or 3. Possibly take that light down and just put the regular footpath lamps they already have everywhere instead of a football field spotlight! If it doesn’t go well I’ll contact my lawyer uncle about codes and have my dad help me confront them, I fold very easily with pressure ☹️
