I’m writing a historical fiction scene set near Montserrat, and I’m trying to understand the cliffs, rock formations, paths, and terrain around the monastery and mountain.

I’d be grateful to hear from anyone who lives in Barcelona, has visited Montserrat often, climbs there, studies geology, or knows the area well. I’m especially interested in practical details: what the cliffs look and feel like up close, how dangerous certain paths or ledges might be, and what kind of terrain someone would encounter near the monastery.

This is for fiction, not academic research, but I want the setting to be accurate.
