Public Health Club

Hi! I’m starting the uOttawa chapter of the Youth Public Health Collaborative (YPHC), a student-led club focused on public health awareness, research opportunities, and community initiatives.

We’re still in the early stages and currently looking for a VP Finance to help with budgeting/funding as the club grows. If you’re interested (or have experience with budgeting, organization, finance, etc.), feel free to PM me with a little about yourself or a CV/resume if you have one :)

Happy to share more details about the club and what we have planned so far!

Need help to make this club official!!

Hello everyone, so I'm making this club official, it's a chapter of Youth Public Health Collaborative (YPHC) which is a student-led initiative aiming to help the community, acknowledge misrepresented or neglected health conditions and also publish student research. The official collaborative has people from the USA, Canada and a couple other countries, but its brand new, so so far not much has been established, and the new research teams are still working on the student journal.

I started this chapter because i realized how hard it is to get research experience/volunteer hours, and im hoping with this club we can make research more accessible and more engaging, i also want to have many events in relation to public health that also blend in fun activities to hopefully destress students.

For now we need a minimum of 25 members, so if you're interested please sign this form (the link is below). And we only need 6 more members!!!

Also, the executive team is mostly done but I have one more vacant position.

We need a VP of Finance. If you are interested, please PM with the skills you have that can fit this position, or your CV preferably.

Intro to statistics and intro to BIOstatistics, I have to take biostatistics anyway, but for my science elective I was thinking of taking statistics. How different are they really, and how is the course load? Because im planning on taking one along side orgo 2 and biopharm, and the other alongside genetics and biochem. And if intro to statistics is similar to intro to biostatistics then it would help a lot, and I could knock out a science elective.
Please give me your feedback anyone who's taken one or both.
