Hey everyone

I have been working on a web app for home automation mainly focused on Home Assistant. I would love to get your feedback since you actually use this stuff.

What my app does now

* Lets you define your home, including rooms and devices.

* Helps you create automations with a builder so you do not have to write YAML.

* Offers -made templates, such as motion-based lighting, time conditions and presence checks.

* Lets you export your configuration for use in your setup.

Here is an example of how it works:

"Turn on this light when motion is detected. Only after 22:00 and only if someone is home."

My plans

* I want to add advanced logic, like AND/OR groups and nested conditions.

* I am thinking of automation blocks.

* I plan to improve the template system for plug-and-play scenarios.

* I want to add validation to detect broken automations.

* I might also add a simulation feature to let you see what happens if…

I tried a 3D model approach where you place devices in a house. I am not sure if it is useful or just a gimmick.

The main question

I want to know if people would pay for my app.

So I would appreciate your input:

* What is the painful part of creating automations for you right now?

* Would a visual builder and templates be helpful. Do you prefer full control?

* What feature would make you think, "ok this is worth paying for"?

* Would you rather pay for

features,

high-quality templates or

something else?

I am especially interested in hearing from people who use Home Assistant regularly.

Be honest. If this sounds useless I would rather know now than, after months of building.
