Started not long ago and only have around 200 rounds through slingshots so far, but my accuracy has gotten way better already (mostly hitting cans now). Honestly, huge plus that this hobby is way cheaper than most of my others 😂

After doing some research, I picked up a SimpleShot LT2. I also grabbed the orange AliExpress slingshot for around $9 just to compare. It arrived today, so I only put maybe 10 shots through each.

Surprisingly, the cheap one actually felt a bit more accurate today — could’ve just been luck though since I wasn’t doing true back-to-back testing (my kids kept wanting turns lol).

I wouldn’t say it’s “better” yet because I definitely need more time with both, but for $9 it honestly feels really nice.

The AliExpress one has shorter bands, which made it feel like it had more tension/power. I’ll probably shorten the LT2 bands for a fairer comparison.

The AliExpress frame is noticeably smaller, but quality-wise I honestly don’t see a huge difference yet.

So I’m curious:

What are the main advantages of the higher-end/name-brand slingshots? Is there something important I’m missing as a beginner when comparing these?
