Any treatment for inner eyelid scarring?
Just over a year ago, I had an eye infection which caused pre-septal cellulitis and a cluster of styes/chalazions to develop. I was put on a couple of different antibiotics to help cure the acute problem. Following that I had three sets of steroid injections to help reduce the residual scarring and inflammation surrounding my eyelid. I repeated the courses every two months however the injections only help reduce the swelling temporarily. I use lubricant eyedrops daily, maintain good eyelid hygiene, and don’t use warm compresses because I found them to cause pain if I use them repeatedly. I have been recommended intense pulse light therapy, however I don’t suffer from meibomian gland dysfunction. I also don’t think surgery would help with the scarring (it may actually make it worse). Is there any other treatment I can explore?
