THE ONLY STRATEGY FOR CDS(II) 2026

Hey people ,
I saw that everyone in the community is constantly asking the "Perfect strategy" for clearing the CDS(II) 2026 , for context I cleared CDS (I) 2026 given this was my first attempt I cleared OTA cutoff and honestly it wasnt my peak potential trust me when I say this , so what I did I will list everything clearly it worked for may and it will work for you too but if you are doing something and truely believe that it will work stick to it religiously -

1- English- "CDS JOURNEY"- Their mocks are so so good honestly , In the actual exam I did the paper in 55 minutes exact , their mocks are supreme no comparison whatsoever , so the plan of action for english would be -

  • Grammar - if you are from english medium then this portion is comparatively a cakewalk for you but there are specific rules which you might not notice therefore
  • watch - 100 rules by Aman vashisht sir and 100 rules by cds jr sufficient enough and then jot down miscellanous rules through mock analysis lectures which pooja mam delivers
  • Comprehension/Reading- if you are from eng med then it is also a cakewalk but sometimes complex cloze test and comprehension comes so give atlest 20 mins to read newspaper or Aeon essays or anything as per the standard of UPSC , you can either follow the editorials cds jr provides
  • Vocab- this is the clarion call please read it carefully , dont jot down or write the word yes you heard me right I didnt wrote any words just watched pooja mam's vocab and daily watched nimisha mam's editorial (vocab part) in a month you will notice you are able to recall because nimisha mam is magical trust me it helped me immensely for vocab daily editorial of nimisha mam is must
  • Other componenst(s1-s1 , s1-s2 , POS,others ) - for specific components there is dedicated video made by TJE , Rani mam watch that its very helpful and make notes out of it understanding based notes out of it
  • That is it for english rest analyse , analyse , analyse the mocks provide my cds jr they are gem trust me try to score 60+ in their mocks then in the actual paper you will score above your expectation , please bhai meri ye baat sunlena I am the testimony of it .

2-GS- I may be critical here but cds jr ka content kaafi late ho jaata h batch ma honestly and pyqs bhi nhi karate so for GS what I did what watched Journey extraordinary ke one shots because the notes were PYQ based and I didnt covered all the GS subjects , I will dig down especifically for each subject but remember this very line *"*even if you cover everything in GS you still need to do intelligent guessing"

  • Science- Did one shot from TJE and used digital notes and compiled my own notes out of that rest did pyqs and mocks of cds journey
  • Geog- This is highly conceptual CDS jr and TJE failed it here to deliver so I would like you to watch firstly watch PW only IAS dependra sir's physical geog one shot and make notes out of it then watch TJE's video for CDS specific PYQs , for indian geog go for cds jr one shot or TJE one shot
  • History- it seems boring but no of questions is quite high so cover the basics most common information dont go for everything , hunt down the easy ones do it like a story , so for people who feels boring go for - paras chitkara modern history and ancient history skip medieval also paras bhaiya has left orthodox sect of ancient india and covered it in other video watch that too ( buddhism , jainism and others ) , if you are inclined toward history then you can watch playlist of Abhishek sir PW of ancient and modern they are GEM literally I can vouch unke theory ke bahar koi question aaya toh cds ma koi bhi nhi kr paega that I can bet trust me
  • Economics / Art and culture - do any one of them if you are analytical kind of person ko for eco and finish the oneshot of TJE , for A&C do oneshot of paras chitkara
  • Polity- one and only TJE and make notes out of it
  • CA- go for Monthly CA of TJE - no noise no fluff more ROI than CDS jr oneshot CA and revise revise revise it should be etched in your heart dont run haphazard for everything just stick to him or CDS jr I did from TJE so I recommended it but yes I would say for yearly go for CDS jr it would be highly beneficial this attempt it was around 80pgs so its good enough done and dusted for CA
  • Mocks- Rest jot down extra info from CDS jr mocks and TJE mocks(free of cost he provides when exam is nearing) and also 5 to 6 yrs of PYQs should be as it is remembered by heart because this year's the PYQ as it is repeated

3-Maths - I may be the odd one out here but dont go for Brar sir trust me if you are not good in maths dont go for him because CDS maths is logical , analytical and highly abstract so you need proper foundation and graduality therefore the plan of action for maths which I followed was -
Telegram se I bought randhir sir's batch completed it , then did PYQs lectures of Brar sir from yt it would be more than enough , do the YT PYQs of brar sir atleast 3 times and of 5-6 years rest mocks and pracitse from Brar sir book if time permits

I did'nt qualified for IMA because I had paucity of time so didnt able to practise PYQs much therefore I dipped down but for CDS(II) I am following exactly same

NON NEGOTIABLE - MOCKS are the only friend which gives you the true picture , please bhai dont avoid it please ek ek question analyse krna ki kaha glt hua and jo sahi hua vo bhi ki jo logic , rule use kiya vo sahi tha ya nhi and write it down in a dedicated register please ye krlena improvement dekhene lagoge aap trust me :)
