I'm a high school senior, and most of my close friends are heading to different colleges. We all say we'll stay in touch, but I honestly don't know how that will really happen.

I've been thinking about this a lot and wanted to hear from people who have actually gone through it,

What did you do to stay close with your high school friends once you started college?
What actually worked? What fell apart quickly?
Was there anything you wished you had done, but didn't?

For those who did manage to stay close with high school friends through college, what actually helped you keep those friendships strong?
