I am 35 and just started getting heavy, random bleeding while on birth control, I also tested positive for hyperthyroidism.

I am child free and do not want children. When I started puberty at 13, I had extremely heavy periods nonstop for 6 months and ended up getting put on birth control. I’ve been on it for 22 years.

Now that I’m starting perimenopause, I was wondering if maybe just getting a hysterectomy would be the best thing.

Has anyone had one after perimenopause started? What are the side effects or long term effects? I kinda just want my uterus gone. I have PTSD from when I was 13 and cannot deal with random, heavy periods.
