Hi everyone. Fully serious question:

Why does the cat in Schrödingers cat not count as an observer? Because the cat does have thoughts and can observe whether it dies. I know it's a thought experience but how can one justify that? Has anyone some intuition for me?

I am not a physics student so I don't know a lot about quantum stuff (obviously haha) but I am a mathematics undergrad, so feel free to use maths if that is in any way relevant. Thanks to anyone answering

Edit: Thanks everyone! Today in the evening I will read all answers in more details but this helped a lot. Always happy to learn new stuff

I am sick and tired of people coming forward about feeling bad about not supporting Amber Heard in 2022 and then flame Blake Lively. Do you really have to like a woman in order to want for her to not be assaulted? It's literally such a similar situation and one Google search could tell you that Johnny Depp and Justin Baldoni use the same PR firm (i.e Melissa Nathan).

Like have you zero critical thinking? I am calling it now that the same people who bullied Amber Heard, who was in fact assaulted by Johnny depp (2020 UK Trial), but who was not 'likeable' enough for people to support her, will come around in 3 years being like 'i feel so bad for Blake'

It is so incredible frustrating that a woman has to appear likeable when making the case that she should be not assaulted in any form. If Blake Lively reminds you of a 'mean girl', so what? Like do not watch her movies or something. It should however not have ANY legal relevance whether the public likes her. Why are we even talking about her personality? A woman is a human being with rights that are not dependent on whether you like her.

I am not saying that we should believe woman no matter what, but someone being a 'mean girl' should REALLY not be relevant to your opinion about whether assault happenend, especially if there is proof.

Edit: Some people corrected me that Blake accused him of harassment and not assault. Fair enough but really not my point
