Hi all 👋

We’re due to move into our new home this Friday (8th) and NatWest are releasing funds on Thursday (7th). I got this text from NatWest last Friday: ‘Good news! We're delighted to let you know that your mortgage application is ready to complete and funds will be sent to your solicitor on 07-MAY-26.’

I’m aware that lenders carry out a final check prior to release of funds and I’ve seen advice online to avoid large purchases prior to release of funds. My question is - how much does this really matter? We literally have no furniture and I’d love to be able to order a few things ready for delivery a day or two after we get the keys, but I’m terrified that I’ll jeopardise anything!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated ☺️
