Hey everyone!

I’m an international student applying for Fall 2026, and I’m currently stuck between CSM Textile Design and Parsons Fashion Design.

I’d really appreciate any honest opinions from people who know these programs!

Here’s where I’m at:

I do think I want to go into the fashion industry eventually, but I’m not 100% sure in what way yet. Like, I’m interested in fashion design, but I also find textiles really interesting (materials, textures, patterns, all that). So I feel kind of in between right now.

  • CSM Textile: feels more creative/experimental, which I like, but I’m not sure how direct the path is into the fashion industry after graduating
  • Parsons Fashion Design: seems more straightforward for becoming a designer and entering the industry, but I’m worried it might be a bit too focused/competitive, especially if I’m still figuring things out

I guess my biggest confusion is whether I should go:

👉 more creative/exploratory (textile)

👉 or more direct/industry-focused (fashion design)

Also, do you think NYC (Parsons) has a noticeable advantage over London (CSM) when it comes to networking and jobs in fashion?

So overall, which one would you personally recommend between the two?

Any thoughts would really help me a lot 🙏

Thanks in advance ❤️
