My daughter is in 8U and is about 80 lbs, 58" tall. I got her a used DeMarini Prism 30" drop 11 bat at an excellent price, and that's what she's been using, but I think it may be a tad too heavy for her. Based on her height, the size charts show that she should use a 30", but I'm wondering if I should look for something lighter, like maybe a Mizuno Finch -13 or even a 29" -11.

It's coach pitch, and she always makes contact with the ball but doesn't have a lot of power behind it. Would a lighter bat help so she could swing it faster? It's 8U and not that serious but I'm just looking to help her feel successful and have the appropriate equipment to be able to develop a good swing.
