I am looking for some insight because my cat behavior has changed in a way I cannot quite understand.

He used to be very affectionate and would always come sit with me or follow me around the house but recently he has started keeping more distance. He still does his normal routine like eating sleeping and moving around the house but he is just not as interactive or interested in attention as he used to be.

There has not been any big change in his environment that I can clearly identify which is why it is confusing me a bit. I am trying not to overthink it but the shift feels noticeable.

Has anyone experienced something similar where their cat suddenly becomes more independent or less social without an obvious reason? I would really appreciate hearing your experiences or any possible explanations related to behavior or routine changes.

Some days you will feel unmotivated and that is normal. You are not supposed to feel strong every single day.

What matters is not how you feel in one moment but what you continue to do despite it. Even small actions still move you forward.

You do not need perfect energy to make progress. You just need consistency in the smallest form you can manage.

Rest when you need to. Start again when you can. Be patient with yourself in the process.

You are still growing even on the days it does not feel like it.

I’ve realized the biggest difference in keeping my space manageable is making sure everything has a proper place. When items don’t have a set spot, they just turn into random piles that slowly build up. But when everything has a “home,” putting things away stops feeling like a decision and becomes automatic. It’s a small shift, but it really helps prevent the house from ever feeling out of control.
