Hey everyone, when I was younger I had a mild injury at elementary school, where I fell on the ground with my wrist. I was too scared to say anything about it to my parents and I just dealt with it on my own until it passed. Since then, I've been unable to press the palm of my hand perpendicular to the arm (as in push ups, due to pain in the upper part of the wrist) and whenever I do this (or write excessively or stress the hand a lot with piano playing etc) I undergo flare ups where the wrist hurts like hell for many days and I need ice/ painkillers/ reduced mobility for it to feel normal again. I visited an orthopedic surgeon last year who said that it was probably nothing (stress, ganglion cyst etc) and prescribed me Etoricoxib, though I believe that the pain is something more. I don't want to lose my ability to live like a normal human due to that condition (I love playing music and writing and exercise) and I'm more than afraid of surgery and the healing process (even if I'd do it if it would get rid of the pain). What could I possibly have and what should I do to stop/ reduce the pain? What type of surgery would someone have to do to deal with this issue? How long would it take to go completely back to normal and will I ever be able to do the things I love now (piano etc)?
