Notes copied from my, (Female, 34, echocardiogram appointment this morning. Trying not to freak out, but google doesn’t help.

Cardiac ventricular dilatation

Age 34. Echocardiogram from today reviewed, showed mildly dilated right ventricle with otherwise normal biventricular systolic function, normal chamber sizes aside from RV, and only minor valvular regurgitation without significant valvular pathology. Ambulatory monitor and exercise stress test were normal with no concerning arrhythmia or ischemia. Clinical impression is isolated mild RV enlargement, likely benign variant but requires further characterization; no symptoms suggestive of pulmonary embolism or lung disease.

- Order cardiac MRI to further assess right ventricular size and morphology.

- Consider CT chest to evaluate for alternative causes if cardiac MRI confirms RV enlargement.

- Counseled on low overall cardiac risk given normal stress test and monitor and absence of concerning symptoms, and explained rationale for MRI as a clarifying study.
