Help me choose
I am a community college student who is primarily interest in equity research but I am also open to other fields of finance (banking, wealth management, corporate finance.) I am transferring as a junior and have received acceptances from Cornell CALS (major: environment and sustainability), NYU (CAS Econ), UMich (LSA Econ), and Claremont McKenna (Econ). I am still waiting on Northwestern (econ) and USC (econ).
I am somewhat torn on what to choose. Right now I am strongly leaning CMC because I feel like all the other schools route much of their recruiting through the business school and related clubs, which I would not have access to due to joining as a junior. I have strong friends/connections and CMC that will be able to get me interviews for the clubs there, and CMC is the business arm of the consortium. I am also planning on working on the west coast so I feel the regional connections would be a lot stronger. Cornell has the best prestige and overall placements but I feel like the major would be a substantial roadblock.
I think the only thing I would consider over CMC at this point is if I were to get admitted to Northwestern, where I also have decent (but not as strong) connections.
