Hiya. I am having a uterine polyp removed (less than 2cm) and IUD put in. Doc said it would be general anesthesia, but I do not want that. I want local for cardiac reasons(i have an arrhythmia) I have an incredibly high pain tolerance and just had a cervical biopsy, uterine biopsy and SIS all without any numbing or pain meds. I think I would be fine for the removal and insertion with local.

Has anyone had it done without general anesthesia or twilight? Is this always done in a hospital?
