A boy spends his holidays with his two aunts in a cabin in the woods. One aunt is very strict and healthy (I think eats raisins as a snack) and the other is carefree and easy going (eats chocolate chips). They go on some hikes together around the woods, there is also a lake with a row boat. The two aunts bicker about their differences leading the boy to run away, take the rowboat out on the lake until they can reconcile their differences. 

It would have been a small paperback book targeted at readers ages 7-10. I guess it would have been published between 1985 and 2004. The book had simple illustrations within the pages but it was definitely a short chapter book. It may even have been part of book containing a series of short stories.
