The interviewer keeps asking about who’s the person runs the department, as they were in the company like 10 years ago. I provided a name and they didn’t recognize, and then they ask who runs the group, I provided a name and they directly say no I don’t think this is right. There are a shit ton of reorganization and integration inside of the firm over the course of the decade. The person I mentioned probably shifted the business arm already. Who the fuck knows what their function was like 10 years ago.
The worst case is that they are prob gonna sniff around about me with the their previous colleagues and jeopardize my current position. I am like pretty sure they will do that even they have no intention to hire me.
Also the ridiculous part is that I flagged this to the HR that my focus is in a different asset vertical even it’s the same type of product and cross checked if they want the interview to be scheduled. And of course HR does HR things and say they would like to speak with you without laying out the details. There is a shit ton of disconnections throughout the interview. The actual interview is way worse than I even imagined, even I saw this coming. The worst part is that they are prob gonna sniff around asking about me even they have no intention of hiring me.
