Hi Ladies,

I had my mastectomy and sentinel node biopsy at the end of March. I only had one Sentinel node turn blue with the dye and when they went in to remove it, they saw another node next to it and took it too because it was there.

I got my results and it turns out the blue sentinel node was clear, but the non Sentinel node was positive for a 5mm macromastis. Apparently this can happen in a small number of cases, where the cancer skips the sentinel node and finds another.

I now have to have a full auxiliary clearance to check for further lymph node spread (yay) but I just wondered if this had happened to anyone here and if so, did you have more nodes involved?
