I don’t really know heaps about pensions.
I’m about to commence 7 weeks of NHS locum work through an agency and they’ve offered me a NEST pension or to opt out. At the moment I have an NHS pension but I understand as I’ve had this for >3 years I wouldn’t be able to transfer the NEST into it.
Is it a good idea to keep the NEST pension and then move it into a SIPP afterwards which I could contribute an additional amount into? Or should I opt out but then losing out on employer contributions. Or should I just keep the NEST and leave it there?
I was considering getting a SIPP pension to pay into so I don’t have towards work until state/NHS pension age anyway.
