As someone who has been following Kagurabachi since Day 0 (yes I was aware even before the manga was out and it got memed, and I stuck by it since Day 1), even I after a while had the feeling that early Kagurabachi was a slow start and it would get much better later.
After the anime announcement I was curious how I would feel about the early chapters nowadays, so I reread them and I was blown away by how good the early chapters were. I misremembered how quick we got into Sojo I thought it would happen after 30 chapters or smth, but Sojo was there at like chapter 7 or something. And even before that the manga was never boring. The only slow chapter was LITERALLY the first one, but after that it keeps the reader on their toes for throughout the whole Sojo run.
TL;DR: Kagurabachi was peak since Day 1
