Our baby boy (7) has a severe case of what I think is acne. His older sister (15) just passed on the 15th, so we’ve admittedly been a bit lacking in care of our other cats. The first photo is from the 17th. The second is from today, April 27th. We are 45 minutes from our vet and it’s hard for us to get time off to drive down. I emailed them this morning and they recommended a Triple Antibiotic Ointment. After applying (generic Neosporin) and him promptly licking it all off, I looked it up and found this can be toxic.
We already use ceramic bowls, although the water dish is plastic. Our town is small so any purchases would have to be made online and add a few days to recovery. I’ve tried washing it, but I think it’s begun hurting because he gets pretty mad at me. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
