2 days at MK or 1 day each at MK/Epcot with almost 2 year old
My family is taking our first trip to Disney World in 2 weeks and we’re trying to decide which park/s to go to. It will be me (I’m also pregnant, but feeling good!), my husband, and our 21 month old son. It will be a quick trip - arrive Wednesday 5/27 around 1:30 pm, depart unfortunately very early Saturday morning 5/30. We’re staying at Port Orleans French Quarter and would love to take a boat ride to Disney Springs once if possible. Our son’s typical schedule is to wake up around 5:30 and go to bed around 6:30, an he still naps 1.5-2 hrs a day. I don’t think he’ll nap in the stroller so we’re planning to return to our hotel around 12-3 both days to nap and use the splash pad. I’m also wondering if it’s worth it to stay out late to see MK fireworks considering his typically schedule.
We’re torn between whether or not to spend both days at MK or to split the two days between MK & Epcot. My husband and I both have both been to Disney once as kids, enjoyed the experience, but we don’t really have big opinions or feelings about any certain rides or park. We know we’d personally enjoy Epcot though (mostly for the food, not planning on any thrill rides given my current condition.) My son recognizes some characters (Mickey crew mostly), but I’m having a hard time even choosing which rides to take him on since he really doesn’t understand it all just yet. Our main goal is just for him to have a good time, and for my husband and I to make some great memories with him before his little brother arrives. We’ll definitely be back for a longer trip when the boys are older so this is just to feel things out and hopefully learn a lot.
I’d greatly appreciate any advice and considerations as well dining recommends (I know reservations may be difficult at this point.)
Edit: we are planning on getting LLMP for me and my husband.
