1st time poster, saw a comment talking about Lancer Tactics and thought "perfect place to make newb mistakes and learn the rules by doing!"
Can confirm that I'm sold on the system after a few single player skirmishes, though I confess I'm not as much of a tactician as I remember, so I spent quite a while sweating over bringing a diverse set of loadouts at LL0, and trying to optimise them against evil & intimidating witches / berserkers.
Assault rifles may not be as exciting as the cyclone pulse rifle, mortar or heavy charged blade, but gosh they're an honest weapon for honest pilots.
Loadout diversity? Not today!
Four Everests with Twin assault rifles plus a backup in case they lose one, Tactician 3, smoke and frag grenades, and go Ork mode until the work is done.
