So I've been reading you really don't want to be driving in the Dark in Tasmania. I was curious if that means everywhere or just off of the main roads and if it's the latter if A3 would be one of the roads that was okay. We're getting into Hobart late around 4-5pm and I was thinking of driving up to Bicheno that night then working our way back. Is that feasible or do I pretty much need to stay in Hobart that night and head up in the morning?

Related question, is there somewhere near hobart we could drive to for viewing southern lights if we stay there or along the way that night driving wouldn't' be an issue?
