I currently have a 7’2 medium baitcaster, I just bought a little John boat and I want to get a spinning rod. My main goal will be fishing big perch and walleye maybeee a salmon or two. Should I go medium light since I already have a baitcaster or are the two different enough that I should get a medium spinning rod?

I want to take my girlfriend on her first trip, something simple probably one night, within 3 hours of Durham region. Any suggestions would be great, she’s a little afraid so preferably no suggestions that have bears. Doesn’t have to be a maintained ground any where that I can just drive up to. Preferably with a lake so I could take her fishing too. Any suggestions help thanks in advance.
