Hello everyone.
Sorry if this has been asked before or if it's the not correct place to post this; I don't pretend to be the daily post asking about getting a job in the UK after completing a Master of Laws degree. I also want to clarify that I posted a similar question hours ago but deleted the post as I was ashamed of how badly written it was.
I'm looking for any information regarding how useful it could be to study an LL.M degree in the United Kingdom to land a job at a big law or international law firm, be it American, British, Chinese or whatever, back in my home country. I've got the opportunity to study it, fully funded, under the condition of coming back to my home country after completing the degree, something I have no problem with, and I'm very excited about the opportunity.
Still, I'm wondering if it's worth the time investment or if I should study the degree locally, as I can't find that much information about job prospects for UK LL.M grads back home. I know there are some associates and partners with those kind of degrees at fancy firms over here, but most lawyers who enter that "elite" legal market mostly have LL.M degrees from the U.S or from expensive private local universities.
Does anyone here know if big law or international UK firms actually recruit foreign grads to go back to their home country to work, or if there are any networking opportunities that are worth it? I'm a Mexican lawyer who is intending to study an LL.M in Commercial and Corporate Law at Queen Mary University of London, and my aim is to come back to practice in Mexico City.
Any insight is welcome. Thanks in advance!!!
