As a long time gamer I had bought every Nintendo console since the NES. I got the Switch when it was released but didn’t play it much. I was just too into my PS4 and didn’t think the Switch offered much besides the portability which at the time I didn’t really care much about. I ended up selling my Switch not long after getting my PS5.
Now after seeing reviews and gameplay of the Switch 2 and talking about maybe getting one.. my wife ended up buying me one a couple weeks ago.
I LOVE this thing. My biggest problem with the original Switch was how much compromise there was when playing many AAA games that were graphically intense. Now with the S2, even in handheld mode, games play and look like a dream. (I know I’m not showing off a very good example of this in the picture lol). But I’ve basically changed from PS5 to playing my Switch 2 constantly. And luckily for me many of the current games I was playing on the PS5 have come to Switch 2... only now, as I get older, I find myself more into handheld systems and being able to sit back and play anywhere I want. Also, my wife’s favorite color is purple and mine is green so I had to grab the purple and green Joy Cons (which looks pink and blue in the picture for some reason) lol.
My current favorite titles I’ve been really into are DK Bananza, RE Requiem (which I was able to get in the “Generation Pack” with RE 7 and 8) and Hollow Knight Switch 2 Edition.
The only “gripe” I had with the Switch 2 was it didn’t feel very good in my hands. I have larger hands and it didn’t feel terrible but adding the case has helped IMMENSELY.
EDIT: I don’t want people thinking I sold my PS5 or plan to completely stop using it lol.. though I haven’t used it since getting my Switch 2 , I don’t plan on not using it again. I just was completely PlayStation for a very long time as far as console gaming and now the Switch 2 has won me over. I don’t think someone needs to choose between only using one console.. both PS5 and Switch 2 have their pros and cons.
