I don’t usually get hyped for games this early, but I’m honestly really looking forward to Subnautica 2. The first game absolutely nailed the feeling of exploration, isolation, and discovering things that were both beautiful and terrifying at the same time. I even liked Below Zero because of the story, i know a lot of people didn't like it at all and that it received backslash.
And honestly, the new Collector Leviathan already looks sick. The design is creepy in the best way possible, and the mechanics they showed off seem insane especially hitting new vehicle and throwing it far. It feels like they’re leaning even harder into the tension and deep-sea horror aspects that made the original so memorable.
I’m especially hoping the sequel keeps that same atmosphere while expanding the world, base building, creatures, and i especially like that there is a co-op.
Is anyone else excited for it, or trying not to get expectations too high yet? What are you hoping they improve or keep from the original?
