First Choice Pre-K Moved, Are We Screwed? :)
About a month ago, we received notice our son's 3K was moving locations across the neighborhood. The new location is not near public transportation, and a 30 minute walk from our house (the old location is an 8 min walk and half a block from the subway). I'm a teacher with a 40 minute commute and need to be at work by 8:15am; my husband has a 30 min commute & needs to be at work by 8am. Bottom line, we can't make the new location work, but we already listed our current school as our 1st choice, which we received today. We are waitlisted at other schools closer to us, but we are 13-14 on the waitlists. Had we known about the move, we would never have ranked his current school. I have a meeting with our Parent Welcome Center tomorrow; is there anything else I can do? I am stressed and scared my son won't have a place in September....
