Man is yet young upon the earth and much is unknown; much land remains yet untamed by axe and plough, but already great cities raise themselves, already astrologers divine truths in the stars and new and terrible wonders are dreamt. The shackle and the lash, the sword and the coin-purse are now old in the memories of men, it is a time of great kings and dread sorcerers, ruling each over their cities with an iron fist. A time when civilisation has ripened unto its worst excesses, while the ravages of beasts yet call upon the door, a time where the splendid things of emperors may be had by any with the might and courage to take them. A ruthless time, a time of unbound potential

A time when the gods- those monstrous scions of Ahriman, who is the dark between the stars; may be found squatting in the temples of great cities, and ambling among the wild places in their thousand abominable forms; attended to by diabolist priests.

This is a sword and sorcery campaign in a hand-crafted setting inspired by a melange of bronze and Iron Age history, and of course good old Conan. Set in a world of a roughly Eocene geography- that means a warm climate and high sea levels, leading to great stretches of warm shallow ocean. That also means, some rather nasty critters, both prehistoric and original, from Andrescharus and Hell-pigs to Wolf-Whales and marauder apes. Even the domestic beasts are of a good portion made up- I’ve had a real crack at an original ecosystem.

Now being a sword and sorcery campaign, this one doesn’t feature fantastical races, I’ve axed the existing races and substituted a variety of humans- with rules meant to primarily reflect the cultural upbringing, don’t worry I’m not pulling a FATAL. Simply that one born and raised among the Guti in the rugged mountains where they make their home, is gonna be shaped by the unique practices of that culture, different from the learned urban culture of the Imaami. Ethnic relations were an important part of Bronze Age culture, and so a fair bit of effort has been devoted to exploring those in this world, but the setting fundamentally rejects all sorts of bioessentialism and racial pseudo-science rest assured

Now what will this gameplay actually look like? Well this is a sandbox setting, I’ve created the world, you run amok in it. Starting at level 1 you’ll find you’re a small fish in a big pond, your character will be driven largely by their own ambition- I recommend for good old fashioned wealth and power, but it’s a ruthless sort of place and won’t pull its punches, so keep your wits about you, play it smart and you might make a name for yourself.

Explore the world, see its many cities, the vile gods which they worship, wander the wild stretches between, find the peculiar cultures and learn their bizarre, often morbid customs.
