"Anchorman" director Adam McKay thought "we have 5, 6 years left and then it's game over" while he was writing "Don't Look Up." That was 6 years ago. He's prepping another climate doom movie and can't see the self-own. (Plus he occasionally jets between California & his 2nd home in Ireland)

So Illinois has created a study committee on racial reparations, called the African Descent-Citizens Reparations Commission (ADCRC). They held a meeting this Saturday where Dr. William Darity, a former Duke professor, demanded almost 3x the annual spending of the federal government to be funneled to black people.

"It's impossible, actually, for all states & localities to meet the task of closing the racial wealth gap. Their combined budgets across the U.S. are $5 trillion... The minimum that's required to eliminate the racial wealth gap is $16 trillion."

There's another clip in this Xwitter thread where he expands on the point: https://x.com/BreitbartNews/status/2048760181425643629

"A true reparations project necessarily must require federal action."

"If we were to look at the state of Illinois itself -- with a black population of about two million people -- let's take half that population, being very conservative here. Half that population as being eligible for reparations. If we take the figure of about $400,000 [sic] as the amount that would be due to close the racial wealth gap -- and again, that's a very conservative number. The expense to close the racial wealth gap for Illinois's black residents would be $400 billion, and the state's annual budget is only $55 billion."

I'm looking to build a 40x30 steel garage and am looking around for a builder, not really sure where to start. From previous discussions here, it seems like going with a manufacturer is much better than going with a company that resells the manufacturer's product. Are there any certifications or accreditations that I might look for in a smaller residential builder?

Cho says of the Trump admin: "They have a kink. Their kink is cruelty. They love to see the suffering of immigrants and tr**s people. And they want to put children in concentration camps -- and poor people. It gets them off."

"I really do believe that [politics] is a pendulum and it does swing. And when it swings back, we will punish them. They will be put in prison. We cannot let up."

"I want to believe in Democrats. I am a Democrat, but I also feel like there's this weird attachment to decorum and taking the high road, and none of that is gonna work. We need somebody, we need a feral, bloodthirsty, VIOLENT Democrat. Like, we just need somebody who is willing to put them all in prison and, you know, do the right thing and put them all in prison."
