First Marathon Training Program and Pacing

Hi everyone!!

I’m running my first marathon in October, and my training officially starts in about a month. Right now, I’m just trying to learn as much as I can and fill in the missing pieces before I start. A local running coach recommended the “Caffeine Bullet” online program, which gives an 18-week training plan, and I also recently picked up Advanced Marathoning and started reading through that.

Originally, I was planning to use a Garmin Coach plan because I liked being able to track my progress and see the predicted race pace/finish time as training went on. But if I use Caffeine Bullet or a plan from Advanced Marathoning, they’re outside of Garmin’s training plans and can’t really be added into Garmin the same way.

Is there any workaround for this? I’d still love to track my progress throughout training and be able to see my stats and projected marathon finish time as I improve.

Hi everyone!!

In about a month, I'm going to be starting my training for a marathon at the end of the year. Looking for some tips and needs!
My plan is to do my marathon in a running vest - any recommendations?
Also looking for cheap, but tasty recommendations for both electrolytes and gels to use during training and the marathon.

Any other tips and advice are welcomed! (:
