Considering the amount of time I spent reading these subs and stressing over this I figured I would make my first post to help someone else.
Took at a local urgent care center, test was an ecup+ non-dot standard 5 panel.
I was not very worried about the temperature part as I tested with another bottle beforehand. The other SVT methods on site was what I was nervous about. I put the heating pad on 30 mins before the test. I then used the heater in my car to help speed things up without the heatpad (this worked very quickly be careful heats up fast). I directed the heat to the floor of my car on full blast and put the bottle of quickfix by my feet for quick 15 second bursts at a time. I did this until it got right at 100. This got it to temp in minutes. I did not want to microwave because of stories of high nitrates. I then put the bottle under my balls w/no heat pack, I knew my body heat would keep it between 94-96.
I expected to go in and have my test done quickly, little did I know they were short staffed and I ended up waiting over 2 hours to get taken back. I sat with my legs extended and crossed to apply pressure to the bottle against my thighs. I did not check the bottle until I went back as taking the bottle out or exposing to air will cool it down quickly.
When I got called back I made small talk with the nurse, she had a little office next to bathroom. She gave me the cup and I went into the bathroom. I was not patted down I didn't even have to empty my pockets. The short staffed part probably helped as she was busy and didn't seem to care much. I will note that the bathroom had no fan and would echo. I had put painters tape over the lid to keep from spilling and when I screwed the top off it did make a little pop sound so be cautious here. When I pulled the bottle out it was at 94 degrees. I shook the bottle of QuickFix up but not enough I guess, it did not foam AT ALL. This worried me but I peed in the toilet, walked out gave her the cup and she did not bat an eye. She marked it as in temp range, put it in the escreen machine, gave me a chain of custody form and I walked out.
Some notes:
In my testing of QuickFix I tried to use the heatpad while it was tucked under my nuts. This got the bottle well over 100 degrees probably like 105. I do not recommend using the heatpad while it is concealed on your body. Your body temp will get it right in a hour or two. I got to temp via car heater and used my body as an insulator to keep warm. 3 pairs of compression underwear locked it in place.
The quickfix did not smell like pee at all, it had almost no smell to it. This coupled with the no foam could of been flagged by an over-zealous nurse. I will say the color looked normal to me.
I have a hard time believing these posts of people saying the lab tech smelled their pee. There is no way they are getting paid enough to smell strangers pee, nor should their nose trump expensive lab equipment.
They did not use a dipstick to test for nitrates.
I was using this because of marijuana. I was a heavy smoker but quit a month before when I started applying to jobs. I was still testing positive a month after and still am a month and a half later. I have no intention of smoking again as this stress was not worth it.
Do not leave QuickFix in your car or in direct sunlight for long periods of time. This will cause pH issues. Store room-temp until you are ready to use it.
Waiting for the results was nerve-wracking. I was constantly waiting on a call from a MRO. In the end I heard nothing. I was sent onboarding packets 4 or 5 days later.
I highly recommend putting painters tape or something over the cap when you go to conceal it. I did not trust the cap to not flip open.
Definitely purchase another bottle and practice using your body heat to heat it up.
I am not posting this to say this is a fool-proof solution. In the end this was a gamble that happened to pay off for me.
Good luck! QuickFix 6.4 got me a new job
