I wasn't born but I assume his life wasn't very publicly documented in the middle of Thriller and Bad, so no one really saw a transition. How were the reactions like? Did some believe it wasn't Michael? Was his skin condition known?
I know he factually isn't here anymore, but it doesn't feel like it. I even forget to use past tense when speaking about him. I still laugh at his silly videos, listen to his music pretty much everyday, see him on my feed everytime...
But especially these days he's everywhere. I go outside, I see his biopic poster. I turn on the tv, there's another documentary on him, and I love that for his legacy.
It's like there’s still a version of him that exists in my head in real time, like l can still “go to him” through music, interviews, performances, and for a second it feels the same as if he was just there.
Sometimes I miss him, but sometimes I don't because it doesn't feel like he was ever gone.
