Need help with grieving bird
TW: loss of parrot
Hi everyone.
Yesterday morning, my partner found our masked lovebird Nelly limp on the floor of the cage.
He picked her up, showed her body to her mate and our amazon parrot in the other cage for 30 seconds hand put her in the freezer. She is still there as we wait for the vet's advice on getting a necropsy done.
There were no signs of illness or change in behaviour.
The other parrots seem healthy, but they are more agitated than usual and her mate keeps looking for her everywhere.
Do you have any advice on how to help them grieve ?
