Hi! I’m VERY new to the tattooing world, and will be starting a certificate program in Tattoo Art soon, to then hopefully get an apprenticeship. I’m making this post to check that I have all the necessary tools to start on my fake skin samples 🙂 I got the machine, needles, ink caps, ace wraps, gloves, fake skin ink, Vaseline, gel deodorant, transfer printer, and baby oil. Before I jump into using the fake skin. I was wondering if there’s anything I may be missing that could be essential for learning and/or helpful! Or just any good tips for starting : D! Thanks!!

I’ll be starting to dive into the tattooing world soon, so I’ve been practicing a variety of objects, animals, and original ideas. Gotta strengthen certain subjects and medias If I want a strong portfolio someday lol. : D The frog was my own lil idea, rest are real pictured animals/object which then I drew into graphite form, off of Pinterest.

Been trying to expand my horizons from doing JUST human related drawings haha and decided 2026 is the year to hone in some animals/creatures! Been having fun with it and am excited to compare these January works to next Decembers and see how much changes! Kinda want to expand past graphite and charcoal as well; maybe explore some pen and markers!
