Sigmaringen Castle is one of the largest and most famous castles in southern Germany. It stands dramatically on a rock above the Danube River and was the residence of the princely family of House of Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen.
It was briefly the seat of the Vichy French Government after France was liberated by the Allies. Sigmaringen Castle is especially famous for its enormous historic weapons collection (armory). It is considered one of the largest private weapons collections in Europe.
