What could've caused my dog's death? (CW for graphic descriptions)
My girl Lizzy is long gone she passed away when I was a teen
My mom was sharing stories about me when I was younger and then she mentioned stories about my childhood dogs (especially Lizzy who was my "soul dog" at the time)
She was a very good dog and was my best friend as I grew up with her as a kid (we first got her when I was 5 and she was about 2 years old.) she was very relaxed for a pitbull. She'd let me dress her up, I made silly kiddie songs about her, she'd wait for me outside when I came home from school and I did just about everything with her.
Whenever I turned about 14 she was about 11 years old so she was up there in age but I just remembered how she passed was very painful for her and traumatizing for me and I don't wish this upon any animal or human. She was fine but within a span of a few days after the 4th of July her health declined pretty quickly. First she was just walking in circles and vomiting a lot and then she started to poop and vomit blood (no solids just straight blood and it was everywhere in the kitchen and back porch)
My dad rushed her to the emergency vet when the blood started and they had to euthanize her that same day. It was scary for what I saw my dog go through and my dad never gave me an explanation of what happened to her. I speculate that it could've been some kind of disease or someone might've hurt her because of the fact she's was a pitbull.
I just need some sort of answer because this thought has been lingering in the back of my head on and off for years now. I feel like if I got some sort of answer it might put me at peace somewhat.
